From scenic lakeside venues to hometown favorites, get ready to experience great music in the heart of Smith Mountain Lake. The SML Songwriters Festival proudly showcases incredible songwriters while bringing live, original music to our community all season long.

We kick things off with our Spring Kick Off Event on Sunday, April 26 (1–5 PM), followed by weekly Open Mic Nights every Wednesday at 6 PM starting April 29 and running through June 10. These nights give songwriters a chance to share their stories and original music.

All of it leads up to the 2026 SML Songwriters Festival, June 12–14, a full weekend celebration of music across the lake.
